Scholarships for Graduates of all Disciplines

Applicants without knowledge of German or very good knowledge of English (which has to be proven by a TOEFL- or IELTS-test which should not be older than one year) cannot be considered. Please also pay attention to the application conditions of the German universities concerning Master’s studies.

The DAAD cannot guarantee university permission towards Master’s studies. The permission to study in a Master’s programme can only be issued by the universities. Please note that (parallel to applying for the DAAD scholarship) you must personally apply for admission to studies for the chosen Master programmes at the host universities. As a rule, it is not only sufficient to comply with all formal requirements. The universities also decide according to achievements and merits of the applicants. Parallel to the presentation of the professional and personal motivation towards the intended study project the application for a DAAD scholarship must enclose at least three letters of application for admission to studies at host universities. This may include: approval or provisory approval documents for a Master’s course, application correspondence as well as information on the chosen degree programmes (length, profile, e.g. print-out of the website), language of instruction, admission requirements, tuition fees etc.

Due to the not reimbursable costs for authentication and the time-consuming verifying practice of visa-documents it is not advisable for family members to come to Germany.

Please regard the requirements of German universities for admission to Master’s courses.

Attention: Application deadlines for Master's courses differ from university to university!
